Just three days after laying his father to rest, Jack Osbourne steps back into the spotlight—this time, in the kitchen. On Cooking With The Stars, he shares a heartwarming memory of Ozzy Osbourne and reveals the hilarious, chaotic reason why no professional chef ever survived long in their household. It’s messy, it’s emotional, and it’s the most unexpectedly touching tribute to the Prince of Darkness yet.

Jack Osbourne returned to mainstream TV on Sunday evening, just days after his father Ozzy’s funeral service in Buckinghamshire.

The reality star was joined by his devastated family for the private service at Welders House, Ozzy and wife Sharon’s sprawling home in rural Jordans, on August 31.

Returning to TV with an appearance on ITV1 show Cooking With The Stars on Sunday evening, Jack shared a fond anecdote about his father while attempting to impress judges with his culinary skills.

In scenes filmed before Ozzy’s death, Jack, 39, recalled growing up in a household where professional chefs would occasionally be employed to prepare the family meals.

‘I grew up on potato waffles until we moved to America,’ he recalled. ‘We would get take out all the time a part from times when we had a chef.

‘We’d get through them all the time because we were a family of really picky eaters and my dad would think that he could cook it better.’

Ozzy, nicknamed the Prince of Darkness, died on July 22 at the age of 76 just weeks after he took to the stage for his final show

During a 2005 episode of Gordon Ramsey’s reality series The F Word, Ozzy shared in an interview that he considers his wife Sharon the ‘worst cook on the face of the Earth.’

He joked that Sharon ‘couldn’t even make a piece of toast without burning it.’

In the episode, she admitted that she had to keep the instructions for her home oven ‘taped to the side of it’ because she used it so rarely.

She also joked that Ozzy would ‘hide his booze’ in the oven at the height of his struggles with substance use because he knew she was unlikely to ever open it.

Ramsey showed Sharon how to cook a tasty lamb chop with mint — a favourite of Ozzy’s — and when she asked for a solid side dish to accompany it he suggested mashed potatoes.
